Checkpoint provides auditing solutions for excursion vessel and boat safety, including Nile river cruises, gulet cruises and vessels providing overnight accommodation. These assessments cover a wide range of safety requirements in line with industry best practice. Checkpoint also assists cruise providers with the development of audit strategies to cover their shore excursion programmes. We offer a wide range of safety audits for tours and excursions, ranging from parasailing to jeep safari. We regularly develop new bespoke audits for unique excursion activities.

Destination Services

We provide tour operators with a bespoke auditing programme to assess their destination service providers, Destination Management Companies (DMCs) and agents who provide a range of tourism services to their customers. Our audits cover an assessment of the DMC’s safety management systems and ensures that the DMC or agent have an effective auditing programme in place to check the level of safety in relation to the suppliers they work with for the provision ofaccommodation, transport, and excursions. All audits are awarded risk grades and recommendations for safety improvement where required. We also offer a bespoke defect resolution management package to assist in the continual improvement of safety standards across the tourism supply chain.

Vacation Rentals

The vacation rentals market is growing in popularity. At Checkpoint we recognise the importance of ensuring that vacation rentals are safe for customer use.  These types of tourism properties may not be subject to local regulatory checks in the same way as hotels  and therefore it is important to understand the risk that some of these properties pose. Key areas of concern include gas boilers and fire safety, especially where the vacation rental properties are present in a multioccupancy/mixed use building. Checkpoint has a tailor-made safety assessment to cover vacation rentals,  whether it be a city apartment or a villa property. Any safety recommendations made as part of the audit are proportionate to the level of risk.
